Covering the areas of South Somerset and Mendip, the SEIAG volunteers work alongside their local and regional police teams to address issues and improve policing for people, communities and businesses in Somerset East.
Aims of the SEIAG
We work hard to make sure people who live, work and spend time in Somerset East have a say in policing activities.
We do this by:
- attending quarterly meetings to discuss topical police issues, understanding and challenging data and reviewing upcoming campaigns
- taking part in training and force activities and providing feedback to officers and staff
- engaging in police-led community events to build a bridge between our communities and the police
- being a point of contact during large-scale investigations or incidents to share relevant information and messages with appropriate contacts and community members
