Women’s IAG

This IAG works across the whole of the Avon and Somerset area to share advice and expertise around the policing of crimes and other issues directly affecting women and girls.

Interaction with women and girls – and the communities they live and work in – is an important focus in policing generally, and for Avon and Somerset Police in particular.

The Women’s IAG brings women of all ages and backgrounds together with police and staff of all ranks and genders to discuss issues and concerns such as:

  • Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG)
  • drink spiking initiatives
  • Professional Standards updates
  • stop and search data
  • feedback and learning from Protest Scrutiny panel
  • officer and staff recruitment and support

Find out more about the topics discussed by viewing notes and agendas from recent recent women’s IAG meetings.

Interested in joining an IAG?

We would love to hear from women, from any background, who want to make a real difference to policing and build public confidence, trust and safety. You don’t need any previous experience, except the experience of life in whatever form that takes. All our members are volunteers.
