Young Person’s IAG

The Young Person’s IAG aims to strengthen the relationship between young people, their communities and the police. It is led by young people, for young people and is a safe space to talk about issues and strategies.

The group discuss a range of topics including:

  • stop and search laws and statistics
  • county lines
  • knife and gang crime
  • radicalisation
  • issues of trust in policing

As well as regular meetings, members will have the chance to see policing in action, take part in training and review best practice with officers.

Find out more about the topics discussed by viewing notes and agendas from recent Young Person’s IAG meetings.

Interested in joining an IAG?

We would love to hear from people aged between 16 and 24, from any background. You don’t need any experience, except the experience of life as a young person. You will want to improve community relations with the police and work together to improve public confidence in policing.
